This is a tricky one. Sports’ days are about children doing their best on track and field and not about parents soaking up reflected glory.

I appeared on BBC Breakfast explaining why the head had good reasons to do this, given the horrific climate that the internet has generated regarding the uploading of photos.
Laverne Antribus, a perceptive child psychologist from the Tavistock Clinic, argued the opposite, talking about her child’s sports’ day, where no one was allowed to run on the track because it was deemed too hot. Health and safety gone mad.
There was much talk about paranoid parenting.
